Meet the KR-010 Elf
The KR-010 Elf aircraft is an important chapter in the history of the development of our designs. Although this machine set new standards, it is no longer in Ekolot's current production catalogue.
Designed with care
about every detail
We have created the spacious cabin interior with maximum comfort in mind, guaranteeing freedom of movement and convenience even for taller pilots. The optimal position behind the controls is achieved in a very simple way – by selecting seat and backrest cushions of the appropriate thickness. Comfortable access to the interior is provided by a wide, one-piece canopy that opens to the side, and its safe use is guaranteed by robust locks, handles, and a practical support system.
Full control precision
Flight precision is ensured by an advanced control system based largely on rigid pushrod-bellcrank mechanisms, which guarantee an immediate response from the ailerons and elevator. Flap deflection from -6º to +15º occurs extremely smoothly via an electric actuator, controlled by buttons directly on the stick. The whole setup is complemented by a cable-operated rudder, which works in perfect harmony with the machine's nose landing gear.
Hull
A monocoque structure comprising two sections: the tail beam, integral with the vertical stabiliser, and the main cockpit section of the fuselage, which are permanently joined together.
2T Tornado 280
The Tornado 280 two-stroke engine, producing 32 KM. This compact unit has been designed to deliver maximum performance whilst maintaining a minimum kerb weight.
Fixed chassis
Three-wheeled with a front wheel. The spring-loaded strut of the main chassis is made of composite material. The front wheel is steered by a system of levers and push rods on the pedals, allowing for a 15-degree turn in either direction.
A robust and well-designed construction
The airframe is based on a modern, extremely robust monocoque structure. The design comprises a spacious main cockpit section and a tail boom that has been permanently integrated with the vertical stabiliser, forming a cohesive and safe whole. This reliable airframe is complemented by a tried-and-tested tail unit designed in a classic configuration.
