Over 30 years’ experience. From the very first, bold prototypes to
mass production and exports to markets around the world.
Jerzy Krawczyk and Henryk Słowik: The duo that built Ekolot
The company's history did not begin with extensive financial backing, but with the meeting of two people with different, yet perfectly complementary skills. It was precisely this unique combination – the designer's engineering knowledge and the entrepreneur's organisational courage.

Jerzy Krawczyk (Designer):
Graduate of the Faculty of Aircraft Construction at the Warsaw University of Technology. He developed his expertise while working on projects such as the M-15, M-18 and the first version of the Iryda aircraft. He brought experience in airframe design, aerodynamics, safety and manufacturing technology to the company.
Henryk Słowik (Entrepreneur):
A determined organiser. His tasks included starting up production, organising financing, building technological infrastructure, and conducting certification and sales processes.
From a garage passion to an international brand
Over three decades of our activity is a history of gradual technological and organisational development.

The begining of Ekolot
Work on the first aeroplane took place under very modest conditions, with the individual components being built in the designer’s home.
The early 1990s
Winning debut
A public presentation of the single-seater KR-01 Elf model took place during the air show in Oleśnica, where its demonstration flight won first prize.
1994
The Birth of Junior
The first prototype of the two-seat JK-03 Junior aircraft has been successfully completed and test-flown.
1999
Window on the world
Junior was presented in France at the trade fair in Blois, which resulted in the first foreign orders and export prospects.
2000
Certificate season
It was a breakthrough moment when Ekolot designs underwent full certification procedures in Poland, and the JK-05 Junior model also obtained certification in Germany.
2008
Expansion and medals
The KR-030 Topaz model is conquering global markets, and Ekolot's aircraft – flown by, among others, the Czech national team – are winning successive medals at world and European championships.
2010 onwards
New era of manufacturing
The company has launched a modern production plant in Szczepańcowa, equipped with professional facilities for construction and assembly work.
2018
Pioneering step
The KR-030-600 Topaz aircraft has been awarded Poland’s first type certificate in the ultralight aircraft category for aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of up to 600 kg.
2021
The Era of the Dominator
On 10 February, the first flight of the prototype of the latest design – the KR-040 Dominator – took place at Krosno Airport.
2021
Building a prototype is one thing.
Creating a durable product is an art.
After 1990, many interesting aircraft designs were developed in Poland. Some of them were research programmes, others ended with a prototype test flight, and a few went through the certification process. However, very few of them entered regular and stable production. What makes the Ekolot unique in this context is that it has repeatedly gone the whole way: from design, through prototype construction and certification, right through to series production, export and many years of service.

Choosing an aircraft manufacturer is not just a matter of performance or price. The customer also chooses the experience, technical facilities and long-term responsibility of the manufacturer. For over three decades, Ekolot has been developing and producing light composite aircraft, operating as a family business with a long-term approach to its projects.

Extreme test: Successes in world sport
The best verifier of an aircraft's performance characteristics is its operation in the demanding conditions of international microlight sport.
Attendance at the championship
Our aircraft, including the Junior and Topaz models, have been taking part in World and European championships for many years.
The choice of professionals
Ekolot's aircraft have repeatedly featured in the fleet of the Czech national team, whose competitors have won top, medal-winning positions on them in both the individual and team classifications.
Qualities appreciated by athletes
In microlight sport, handling precision, high fuel economy, flight stability and reliability are of key importance, and these are the characteristics of our machines.
Practical knowledge
The feedback provided by experienced sport pilots is a source of invaluable knowledge for Ekolot, which is utilised on an ongoing basis in the design and refinement of new aircraft.
ABOUT EKOLOT
We are a Polish microlight aircraft manufacturer from Krosno.
For years we have been designing and building advanced composite structures that have gained recognition all over the world. Our journey began with projects that became icons in their class, such as KR-030 Topaz whether JK-05 Junior.
Today, drawing on this rich engineering experience, we are focusing on the development of our latest designs, including KR-040 Dominator.

Technology in your own hands
Ekolot is not simply a facility that assembles supplied components. We possess our own comprehensive competencies in the fields of design and manufacturing.
Advanced composites
We have many years of experience in the construction of lightweight shell structures and sandwich structures. In our manufacturing processes, we make extensive use of glass and carbon fibres.
From model to production
We independently prepare technological models and production moulds, which allows for the precise reproduction of aerodynamic shapes and guarantees the repeatability of successive machines.
Systems integration
We are successfully integrating modern glass cockpit avionics, navigation systems, and powerplants into airframes.
Certification processes
Our expertise includes preparing technical documentation, carrying out strength analyses, and conducting ground and flight tests.
